Sunshine and Shadows

"I did many rounded corners."

Double Wedding Ring

"I thought I may be making a mistake when I quilted this with red thread, but I like it."
Grandma Pope's pattern is in the center of the rings, and it has a straight edge.
"If anyone had any leftover material from sewing, I asked for it."

Sunbonnet Quilt

This is a friendship quilt that Marie encouraged her Gleaner Girls in Mutual to make. When she looked at the back and saw that instead of binding she had turned the back over the front, Marie said, "Oh, surely, I didn't!!"

Christmas Quilt

Double Wedding Ring

The gingham on the back gives it a dainty look. Grandma Pope made many Double Wedding Ring quilts -- all small. All the pieces were cut with scissors. Notice the scalloped edges. "I have 3 more like this. They are all made from scrap material. I used what we had".

Log Cabin - Barn Raising

This and the next Log Cabin quilt were made much the same but put together differently. Both are scrap quilts. (Scraps are pieces of new material left over from someone's sewing). "I like red centers".

Nursery Blocks

The nursery blocks were embroidered by Anita.
